Hello! And welcome to my first DIY tutorial! First these cute under 8" coffin boxes come out during October at Michael's stores. They used to be bigger but over the years they have gotten smaller.
Items needed:
wooden coffin box
acrylic paint
paint brushes
beads/jewelry
water
glass glue or e6200 glue
{ONE}Make sure to work in an area you dont mind getting paint or glue on. Or have a plastic/canvas drop. I sometimes work ontop of a blank canvas. Have a cup of water to let your brushes soak after done painting ready.
{TWO} apply paint to your blank wooden Coffin. 3-4 layers to get a vibrant color since the wood soaks it up and will darken the color a bit. These boxes dont take long to dry so you can work pretty fast.
{THREE} once the first color is done in and add your accent color inside, you can do one side or all of it, its up to you! As well as a secondary darker accent to make the edges darker for another pop of color. Clean brushes. Also begin any extra color to the outside while your inside drys.
{FOUR} let it dry a bit before adding designs inside the box.
{FIVE} play with placement of beads & adornments first on the outside. Then I suggest take a picture incase you bump it and it scatters. Once you are happy with it begin to glue it down. Make sure you are in a well vented area, these glues have a strong odor.
{SIX} let it dry at least for 10 mins! Then begin adorning the inside. If you want to leave it as is then you are done!
Congrats on your first Coffin Trinket Box! I hope you enjoyed!
